After nearly five decades since my military service in the Republic of Vietnam, I found myself brimming with nostalgia and anticipation as I readied for my helicopter flight in Fort Worth, Texas. The familiar hum of the rotor blades and the rush of wind stirred memories of a time when these machines were indispensable in my life. As the landscape unfolded beneath me, I reflected on the tumultuous experiences that had shaped me during that deadly chapter. This flight transformed into more than just a scenic journey; it was a poignant reconnection with a part of my past that I had sealed away for years.
